When Abbie and Kyle first asked me if I would consider traveling to Arkansas for their engagement session, I was more than happy to say yes. It’s important to me that my couples have photos they love and hold meaning to them. Since their wedding will be in Kansas, they wanted to have a set of photos reflect their current home state. Brock and I kept watching the weather the entire week of the shoot and praying that it wouldn’t rain. We lucked out and had a beautiful, but humid evening. We started the evening at Lake Wedington and ended at the Fayetteville Downtown Square. I loved every minute of getting to know these two and cannot wait to see them again!!
Abbie and Kyle are both originally from Lawrence, KS. They actually went to high school together. As they told me a bit about their story, they talked about how their last names were so close alphabetically that they were always near each other. Their lineup in classes was close, their lockers were close, and they were even lined up close at graduation. Even though they were always around each other, they didn’t start dating until their sophomore years of college though. Kyle even tells people that he was a “survivor of the friend zone”. When the two started dating, they spent the first year and half dealing with a distanced relationship as Abbie was in Arkansas and Kyle remained in Kansas for school. Finally, Kyle transferred to the University of Arkansas to finish school and both have stayed for work. Kyle proposed on December 19, 2020 on the lawn of the most iconic building on campus, Old Main. He even arranged for friends and family to be there and someone to take photos of the moment.
After spending an evening with them, it’s easy to see the genuine spirit of both Abbie and Kyle. They are both incredibly kind and friendly people. I am beyond excited and blessed to be the one that gets to share in their journey and capture their special moments!!
So many great photos! Can’t wait to see which ones you pick to be on your announcement card.
