This day was absolutely beautiful from beginning to end. The day started with the girls getting ready at Church of the Magdalen and the guys at Wichita Brewing Company where the reception would take place later in the day. Everyone was relaxed and in great moods as the excitement built for what was to come.
Dan and Nicole chose to keep their wedding simple and relaxed, but in a classic and elegant way. The flowers were absolutely STUNNING and smelled so good. It’s always so fun to carry the bride’s bouquet for her throughout the day because it’s a simple, calming moment to take a deep breath and enjoy the beauty of nature. Nicole’s bouquet was extra special because it included a rose made from her mother’s wedding dress. Since Nicole has three other sisters, their mom had one of the fabric roses made for each of them to include in their wedding day. It’s such a unique way to include tradition and legacy in such a simple manner.
Throughout the day, Brock and I commented on how everyone seemed to just enjoy the day. No one seemed overly stressed or anxious. They truly just focused on coming together to witness Dan and Nicole becoming husband and wife and celebrate the moment. Instead of worrying about using every minute of their day to make it look perfect, the couple chose to spend their time with the friends and family. We even made a stop at Dan and Nicole’s new house for a little fun with their friends before the reception started. While there, we took advantage of the freshly painted porch and took a few portraits. We actually did this not long ago during their engagement session and now they have the same photos on their wedding day. We joked that they need to do this every year on their anniversary or for any big (or tiny human) life changes!! What a fun way that would be to document their marriage and their journey together!!
I hope you enjoy looking through these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them! Dan and Nicole, you are two truly kind and amazing people. It was an honor to capture your day!!
One of the sweetest moments was when Nicole showed her grandfather the charm in remembrance of her grandmother.
The shortest marriage and the longest marriage 🙂
