Let me introduce you to this adorable couple, Ashley and Jordan. Ashley is from Jacksonville, NC but moved to Wichita about 13 years ago to be closer to family. Ashley is a social worker for a local non-profit that serves people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Jordan is from El Dorado, KS and works to provide mobility solutions for people with physical disabilities. The two met online in 2018. After about a week of talking back and forth, they met up at Old Chicago in Old Town for their first date. They now live happily in Goddard, KS with their sons, Ashley’s brother who has Down’s Syndrome, and their 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Prior to asking Ashley to marry him, Jordan actually proposed to her sons to make sure they were on board. When the boys agreed, Jordan began making plans with Ashley’s sister to set everything in motion. After a day out with her mom and sister, Ashley returned to find the boys with sparklers and Jordan ready with a sappy speech. Thanks to the sparklers being a little short, they were quickly surrounded by smoke and laughter, but full of happiness.

Originally we had planned this session for another day, but decided to postpone due to possible rain. So when we met for this session and the radar called for a possible storm, we decided to hold our breath and just go for it. While we had beautiful weather in the beginning, the storm did make an appearance towards the last half. We took cover at a new location and got creative. We couldn’t move much without being drenched, but we made the most of it and had a lot of laughs. Ashley and Jordan went with the flow and even decided to give in to the storm altogether at the end. When we finished there wasn’t a dry spot on us, yet we had some unique and beautiful images. Honestly, I wouldn’t change it at all!!
